Mother of Dahmer Victim Opens up about Netflix’s “Monster”: “I Don’t Understand How They Can Do This.”

The backlash against Netflix’s show led to the interview of the serial killer by the last journalist. He rebuffed critics who claimed Netflix’s new series “romanticizes his horrendous acts.”

Nancy Glass, a journalist, joined America’s Newsroom to discuss the scrutiny surrounding “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer story” and her sit-down interview in 1993 with the serial killer.

Everyone wants to know how it could happen.

When Bill Hemmer asked Glass if the series romances the dark tragedies, Glass replied “No, I don’t.” I think they sort of satisfying our curiosity as to how something like this could happen. How can I avoid this? What can I do to avoid it?

She continued, “I know it may sound bizarre, but I believe it’s more about morbid curiosity rather than romanticism.”

Netflix also received criticism from family members of Dahmer’s victims. Some argue that the platform should have reached them about the series before.

Glass stated that “No matter what it’s not a good feeling for family members, but it wasn’t a documentary, and it’s a work of fiction.” “For instance, the idea that neighbors called every day, but they didn’t, was false. This was false.

She continued, “This is… A miniseries by a producer and writer who do really good programming. And that’s exactly what they did here.” “They kind of combined a lot of different things that happen.”
