Kevin Smith cannot say whether Jennifer Lopez’s first of two wedding celebrations with Ben Affleck featured a dress from Jersey Girl. This is what the internet has been speculating about in recent weeks.
Smith said Tuesday that “Maybe it wasn’t that, I didn’t ask,” at a Yahoo Entertainment virtual press conference for Clerks III about the connection to Jersey Girl (the 2004 comedy he directed) “I wasn’t like, “Hey man, can I settle the internet for you?” This would be great for my brand!
Smith witnessed the newlyweds at their second marriage this weekend at Affleck’s sprawling Georgia estate. This is where the power couple was supposed to wed before splitting up in 2004. (The director cut the scene from Jersey Girl because it could distract viewers.
Smith tells us that it was a Hollywood classic romance.
He says, “I was so overwhelmed with the wedding itself.” He said, “I am a big-hearted romantic at heart, so love. They have a wonderful love story. It’s not over, but it is almost. They landed and closed the circle.
