Meghan and Kate honored their grandmother-in-law at the service with jewelry they received from her go-to stone: pearls.

The women left the medieval hall in front of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. They were accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence and Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex. Anne’s son Peter Phillips was with them, as well as David Armstrong-Jones (Earl of Snowdon), their nephew.

The procession ended Wednesday at Buckingham Palace and was closed by the 20-minute closing service. There, the Queen’s coffin was transported in a gun carriage driven by the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery through London.

Many people crowded the streets to see Queen Elizabeth II. More will be able to pay their respects to her as she lies in state for five days. Westminster Hall will remain open to the public throughout the day.

The coffin will be moved to Westminster Abbey in the early morning of Monday, September 19 for Queen Elizabeth’s state funeral. This will attract dignitaries and diplomats from all over the globe.

After the funeral, Queen Elizabeth will be laid in state at Windsor Castle’s King George VI Memorial Chapel. She will be buried alongside her husband, Prince Philip.
