How This American Basketball Player Fled Ukraine to Unite with Family
It took him five days, but he’s finally out safely!
About a week ago, Maryland Native and former NCAA basketball player Maurice Creek was playing for the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague. Little did he know that within days, he would be stranded in Ukraine and had to trek back to his home, nearly 5,000 miles away.

Creek began to play professionally in Ukraine in 2019. He was a member of MBC Mykolaiv in the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague. His friend, who is also a basketball player, Toure’s Murry managed to escape while Creek was stranded in the war-torn zone.
