The player took to Twitter to announce that he had finally made it out of the country and headed to Romania. Finally, he caught a flight to the USA to reach home safely.

But it was not easy…

“I’m terrified, I’m terrified,”

Though Creek is finally out, the entire journey was tormenting. The 31-year-old was in touch with his family and agent. But he was fearful because of the severity of the situation in Ukraine. The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine is closed, but people were trying their best to get the player to a safe border for leaving Ukraine.

Now, Creek has been posting his experiences on social media, at one point stating that he “never felt so hopeless in my life” after escaping from Ukraine.

He said that he wanted to escape before the Russian invasion of Ukraine. But his team did not pay him because of which he would not travel out of the war-affected country. He said that the team paid no serious attention to the war, and instead thought that Creek was trying to get out of the contract.

In a statement, Creek said.

“I’m not just that because I’m in it, I’m saying it because it’s real. I’m not gonna lie, I’m terrified right now. It’s a terrible time, so I can use all the comfort and need all the love and support I can get.”

In an interview with BasketballNews.com, Creek revealed that he stayed in a bomb shelter after the invasion while he was in Ukraine.

While Creek was stuck in the war-threatened country, his parents kept asking for help to bring their son back home. In an interview, he told the sports anchor Scott Abraham that his mother was crying every day, and his father was worried sick. He said that his brothers were calling him nonstop every day.

We’re happy that Creek is back home now. The Russia-Ukraine war is still going on, and many Americans are stuck and stranded in Ukraine. A Tampa-based NGO, Project Dynamo, is helping U.S. citizens escape from Ukraine as the war continues to unfold. So far, they have successfully removed two bus loads of nationals safely.

Ukraine is still under threat, and the evacuation is still under process. We pray for Ukrainians and citizens of all countries stuck in the war. Hopefully, all Americans will be evacuated from Ukraine and join their loved ones back in the USA very soon.
