Henry Cavill Confirms Superman’s End: ‘It’s Been a Great Ride with You All.

Cavill wrote, “It’s bad news everybody.”

Cavill wrote, “I won’t be returning as Superman.” This news is not the easiest to share, but it’s what I have to do.

Cavill observed that James and Peter had a universe to create and wished the new universe the best luck and the happiest fortunes.

He thanked his fans and noted that Superman was not going anywhere, and what the character stands to is still true.

“My time to wear the cape is over, but Superman will never let me.” Cavill concluded his statement by signing off, “It’s been a great ride with you all. Onwards and upwards.”
Cavill was the first to don the Superman cape for “Man of Steel” in 2013. He played the same role in “Batman v. Superman,” 2016 and “Justice League” in 2017.

Cavill revealed in October that he would not be appearing on Netflix’s “The Witcher.”

British actor captioned his post: “My journey with Geralt of Rivia has included both monsters AND adventures. And alas, my medallion will be laid down and my swords for Season 4.

Season 4 will see Cavill replaced by Liam Hemsworth, an Australian actor. Cavill, now 39, just announced that he would be returning in season 4 to play the role of Superman.

Cavill’s resignation comes just after “Wonder Woman”, filmmaker Patty Jenkins explained why “Wonder Woman 3” will not be made.

Jenkins addressed speculation that Jenkins was behind the delay in a third “Wonder Woman” film. She said, “I never walked out.”

She said, “I was open to consideration of anything you asked me. My understanding was that there was no way I could move forward at the moment. DC is clearly buried by the changes they are making, so I can understand why these difficult decisions are being made.”

Gunn replied to Jenkins via Twitter, supporting Jenkins’ statement.

He wrote, “I can attest to the fact that all of Peter [Safran]’s interactions with me were pleasant and professional.”

Warner Bros. decided not to make Wonder Woman 3 last week.
