Henry Cavill Confirms Superman’s End: ‘It’s Been a Great Ride with You All.
James Gunn and Henry Cavill made it clear via social media Wednesday that Superman will not be playing the role again in the next movie about him. “Peter [Safran] and I have a DC slate, which we couldn’t be more over the-moon about; at the start of the new year, we’ll be able to share some exciting information about the first projects,” Gunn, DC Studios’ new co-chief, posted on Twitter.
“Superman is one of the many on. Our story will focus on a different part of Superman’s history, so Henry Cavill will not play the character in the beginning. “But we just had an amazing meeting with Henry, and we are big fans. We talked about many exciting possibilities to collaborate in the future.”
Cavill posted on Wednesday that he had just met with Gunn, Safran and decided not to reprise his role of Superman.
