Google Play’s 10-year-anniversary Celebration Gets A New Logo

Tian Lim, Vice President of Google Play, explained that the new logo better represents the magic of Google.

It also matches the branding of many of our helpful products, such as Search, Assistant, and Photos. After it was rebranded in 2012 from the Android Market, the new logo and iconography mark 10 years of Google Play.

Lim says that a decade later, over 2.5 billion people from more than 190 countries use Google Play each month to find apps, games, and digital content. “And we have more than 2,000,000 developers working with us to grow their businesses and reach people all over the world.”

Google Play is celebrating 10 years with a boost in Google PlayPoints. Activating the points booster (start dates vary by country) will give you 10x points for all purchases, even those that are in-app.
