For 2022, the Omnibus Spending Bill includes $24 billion for NASA
The bill also includes funding. It extends NASA’s authority for enhanced used leases of agency property to companies or other organizations for a year. This authority expires at the end of 2021. A House bill that was originally intended to extend that authority for a long time was made into a legislative vehicle for a vote rights bill, which passed the House in January but did not get passage in the Senate.
The House will vote on the Omnibus Spending Bill on March 9. The Senate is not expected to vote on the omnibus spending bill before March 9. However, there are doubts about whether the bill will pass the Senate before March 11. Congress plans to also pass a four-day continuing resolution (CR), which funds the government through March 15.
