Agent Cedric Saunders said that Haskins was in South Florida to train with Steelers teammates. On May 3, he would have been 25 years old.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin released a statement saying that he was devastated by Dwayne’s passing. He quickly became part of our Steelers family after his arrival in Pittsburgh. He was also one of our hardest workers on the field as well as in our community. Dwayne was an outstanding teammate and a wonderful friend to many. It is truly a terrible loss. We are thinking of Kalabrya and all his family during this time.
