Donald Trump Tried to Pay His Lawyer With A Horse Once, A New Book Says

This bizarre scene is described by Servants of the Damned, Giant Law Firms Donald Trump and the Corrupt of Justice, a book written by David Enrich of the New York Times, which will be published next. The Guardian received a copy.

Enrich reports that Trump offered a $5m stallion to Enrich, but that he “once he regained speech capacity”. “You can’t pay for me with a horse.

There are many instances of Trump’s accounts refusing to pay legal or other bills.

New York’s investigations into Trump’s tax and business affairs are civil as well as criminal. Trump’s unwillingness to pay legal fees was also a key part of his effort to reverse his defeat in 2020, which has put him in even more legal trouble.

Andrew Kirtzman, author of Giuliani, The Rise and Tragic Falls of America’s Mayor reports that Rudy Giuliani’s girlfriend demanded $2.5m from Trump in January 2021 for Rudy Giuliani’s legal work regarding the attempt to block Joe Biden’s win. He also requested money for “defending” him during the Russia hoax investigation, and then the impeachment.

Kirtzman wrote that Maria Ryan made the request in the exact same letter where she asked for Giuliani to be granted a “general pardon”, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
