Willis started his acting career in the 1980s, with roles that were not credited in films such as Sidney Lumet’s “The Verdict.” His career took off in the following decade, thanks to his starring roles opposite Cybill Shepherd in ABC’s series “Moonlighting” and as John McClane (in 1988’s action film “Die Hard”) which marked Willis’ debut major film franchise. Willis’ movies grossed more than $5B worldwide over the course of his four-decade acting career. He’s been nominated for five Golden Globes (winning one award for “Moonlighting”), three Emmys (winning one Emmy for “Moonlighting”), and two Emmys for his guest role in “Friends”.
