Biden stated that NATO, the EU, and G-7 would join with the United States to revoke Russia’s “most favored country” trade status.

Biden stated that leaders from both political parties supported the move. Biden thanked Nancy Pelosi, House Speaker, for holding off on the legislation necessary to make the move so that the White House could gather support from key allies to coordinate the move.

Biden announced Friday that additional oligarchs were added to the sanctions, as a way to deprive the Russian billionaires from flashy luxury purchases such as yachts and vacation homes.

They support Putin. They steal from the Russian people. They want to hide their money abroad,” Biden stated. They must feel the pain of these sanctions.”
