Audition Tapes From ‘Stranger Things’ Prove That Kids Are Destined for Greatness

Stranger Things have had something special from day one. Fans can see the inspiration behind the casting directors’ choice of these actors in newly released clips from their audition tapes.

Carmen Cuba, the casting director for Netflix’s hit show, sat down with Vanity Fair in a video interview to discuss the first audition tapes that were submitted by Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard, as well as the roles they played.

Cuba shared her thoughts with us during the interview. She and the Duffer Brothers, who created the show, knew that they needed young, experienced actors. And they did.

Cuba stated that the children in the Stranger Things cast did not appear out of thin air. They had been working hard for many years before we found them,” Cuba said in an interview.

Schnapp’s audition video was first.

It shows Schnapp, now 17, at the tender age of 10, performing an emotional performance as Will Byers. This character, who famously disappeared into the “Upside Down”, during the show’s first season, is Schnapp.
