This is not the same advancement in do-it-yourself friendlyness you saw in base iPhone 14. If you fall on a hike, you’ll need to bring this to a professional repair shop. Despite this, iFixit believes the Watch Ultra is a step towards more repairable Apple wristwear. It’s unclear if future smartwatches will make this leap. However, it shouldn’t surprise given the increasing political pressure on tech companies to produce more maintenance-friendly devices.
