Apple Invests $100 Billion in Japan, and CEO Cook Visits the Chip Epicentre
TOKYO (Reuters), Dec 13 (Reuters – Apple Inc (AAPL.O) stated Tuesday that it has invested more than $100 million in its Japanese supply system over the past five years as its Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook visited Japan’s epicenter of the semiconductor industry.

Cook tweeted Monday that he had visited Kumamoto Prefecture in southwestern Japan. This is home to many factories for semiconductors and leading technology companies, including one currently under construction by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) (2330.TW).
