Add A Digital Pet To Your iPhone

Hugo is the name of the cat, and Selig named it after his real-life feline. There are also “Pixel Pals”, Rupert, Chortley, Finnegan, and Mochi, all of which can be found at what Selig calls the Dynamic Island Zoo.

This is the major problem. These digital pets cannot follow you around while you’re using your iPhone 14 Pro. iOS is iOS. Selig cannot make Hugo, Finnegan, or Chortley sleep on your Dynamic Island while they text, tweet TikTok, scroll TikTok, and scroll TikTok. The feature is built into Apollo so that if you don’t use Reddit yet, you can start using it now.

Although Apollo has paid tiers available, Selig includes the Dynamic Island Zoological Park for no cost. As long as the app is up-to-date and you have an iPhone 14 Pro or 14 Pro max, the option will be available in the Apollo app under Settings >General > Pixel Pals.

Pixel Pals are also available for other iPhones

You can still enjoy Pixel Pals even if you don’t own an iPhone 14 Pro. Selig made Pixels Pals an Apollo widget choice for iOS16’s customizable Lock Screens. You can view your Pixel Pal anytime you like if your iPhone supports the latest Apple update and has the Apollo app installed.

To set it up, long press on the Lock Screen and tap “Customize.” Next, select a widget area to bring up the Add Widgets Menu. Tap “Apollo” and swipe over to “Pixel Pal.” This allows you to add a small or large Pixel Pal widget to your Lock Screen. You can have as many as four Pixel Pals at once.

By default, Hugo the cat will appear on your Lock Screen when you place a Pixel Pal widget. To swap the animal for one of the four other pals, tap on the widget and then tap “Cat (Hugo).”
