According to a statement made by “the LGBTQIA+ employees at Pixar and their allies,” obtained by Variety employees claim that Disney corporate leaders have requested cuts from “nearly any moment of overtly homosexual affection… regardless of whether there is protest from either the creative teams or the executive leadership at Pixar.”

This astonishing claim is part of a larger reaction to the companywide memo sent by CEO Bob Chapek to Disney employees on Monday. It concerns Disney’s response to Florida’s recently passed “Don’t Say Gay” bill. Chapek stated in the memo that the company’s “biggest contribution” to creating an inclusive world is “through the inspiring content we create.”

The Pixar letter states that this claim is inconsistent with the employees’ experiences of creating content with the same-sex affection, which was approved by Disney executives.
