In a statement made by King Richard, the actor stated, “I have responded directly to the Academy’s hearing notice and willfully accept all consequences for the conduct I have. My hurtful actions include Chris, his family, my dear friends, loved ones, all of those present, as well as global audiences. I betrayed Academy’s trust.”
