Why Elizabeth Debicki’s Performance on the Crown Left Princess Diana’s Biographer “Shaken”

Morton co-authored the book with Diana’s participation and cooperation, using James Colthurst to act as a middleman. Colthurst was contacted by the author, and he then passed on questions to Diana. For Morton’s benefit, she recorded her answers on tape.

Season five features the entire orchestration with Morton being played by actor Andrew Steele. Morton stated that Steele’s performance may not be as perfect as Debicki’s, but he is fine with it.

Morton laughed and said, “I think that he comes across compassionate, sympathetic, and a bit more earnest then than.” “Not your average journalist. Someone who is more thoughtful. It’s obvious that I enjoy it.

The Crown Cast Vs. the Royals They Play

Morton was consulted on The Crown as a fact-checking position and was impressed by the level of detail that was given to the smallest details. He said, “Down to the paper that I used for sending [Diana] chapters to her to read.” “They even found the right typeface.”

The controversy surrounding the show, including criticism from former U.K Prime Ministers John Major & Tony Blair, is still a concern. Morton’s book, The Queen: Her Lives, about Queen Elizabeth II, was published Nov. 15. He doesn’t seem to understand the outrage.

He said that he actually thought it was a lot of “rattling people’s pearls”. “It’s amazing that two Prime Ministers have made public comments about this show. It’s not something they have seen, which is the first rule in any commentary.

Netflix has the fifth season of The Crown available for streaming.
