Target Raises The Starting Hourly Pay Of Some Jobs To $24

Target announced Monday that its starting wage will be increased to $24 for certain positions.

The retailer, based in Minneapolis, said that the hourly wage increase would apply to employees at its supply chain facilities, headquarters and discount stores.

Target set its minimum wage to $15 in 2020. Target will maintain the minimum wage at $15, but Target stated that some workers will be eligible for a higher starting salary based on their job nature and the competitive wages in their area.

Target (TGT), which has more than 350,000 employees and over 1,900 US-based stores, announced that it will increase some starting wages as part of its $300 million investment in its workforce. This investment includes increasing access to healthcare benefits for hourly employees, which began in April.
