Target hourly employees working at least 25 hours per week will be eligible for a company-sponsored medical plan under the plan. This is a decrease from the previous requirement that employees work a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Target is also shortening waiting periods for eligible hourly employees to enroll in a Target health plan. Employees will be eligible for comprehensive health benefits up to nine months earlier depending on their job position. Employees will also have faster access to their 401(k), plans.

These changes are coming as more restaurants and retailers have adopted a $15 per hour minimum wage.
