Winners of Oscar Awards 2022! 

The Academy Award was held in Los Angeles, Dolby Theatre, on March 27, 2020. This year, the best picture honors went to “CODA,” the deaf family drama that won many hearts! They were also the first ones to receive an Oscar as a streaming service.

Also, Apple TV+ won an Oscar this time for best action. Moving on to the other categories, this year, the best actor award was bagged by Will Smith for his outstanding acting in King Richard. The nominees for these categories featured famous names like Benedict Cumberbatch, Andrew Garfield, Javier Bardem, and Denzel Washington. 

For best actress, Jessica Chastain won the award for her work in the eyes of Tammy Faye. Other nominees included Olivia Colman, Kristen Stewart, Nicole Kidman, and Penélope Cruz.

Besides the movie industry, the winners of the musical category were pretty deserving too! Billie Eilish, FINNEAS, with the iconic number No time to die, won the best original song. 

For the Best Director category, Jane Campion bagged the award for her outstanding movie “The Power of the Dog.” Also, the Oscar winner in the International Feature Film category was Drive my Car. 

Next, let’s check out the supporting artist winners. This year, the award for the best-supporting actress was bagged by Ariana DeBose, for her impeccable job in West Side Story. Likewise, CODA took the award for the best supporting actor, with Troy Kotsur as the winner. 

In the best documentary feature category, the award was won by Summer of Soul (…or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised). On the other hand, the best Screenplay Original was bagged by Kenneth Branagh for Belfast. 

Also, this year the best-animated feature was none other than Disney’s Encanto. Trust us; it’s so worth watching! The list had other nominees like Luca, Raya, The Last Dragon, Flee, and The Mitchells vs. the Machines.

CODA completed their 3-win streak by also winning the best-adapted screenplay category. This year, the best live-action short film was won by the Long Goodbye (Riz Ahmed and Aneil Karia).
