Jennifer Lopez on Ben Affleck’s Split: “I Honestly Felt Like I Was Going to Die,”

Lopez and Affleck tied the knot ( twice! After rekindling their relationship, they tied the knot over the summer. In 2004, the Giglicostars called off their engagement.

It was so hard to break up. It was the worst time of my life. Twenty years ago, we canceled our wedding. Lopez said that it was the worst feeling she ever felt. It sent me into a spiral for 18 years, where I couldn’t get it right. It was impossible to get it right. It does, however, have a happy ending 20 years later. It has the most would-never-happen-in-Hollywood ending. It would never have happened. Because nobody would believe it, we won’t write that.”

Lopez claimed that Affleck called Lopez out when they got back together because she didn’t perform songs about him on This Is Me Then

“I was like, “You’re right. It was very painful. It was part of me that I had to let go to survive. Lopez said it was a survival tactic. (By the by, Lopez said that Affleck knew all the lyrics to the songs on that album.

” This is Me Then truly captured the moment when I fell in love and married the love of my life. It’s all recorded. Lopez recalled that Lopez didn’t realize what was going on and what he was doing. “Every song we wrote there, me writing Dear Ben, it was such an extraordinary moment in time to have captured.”

Lopez claimed that the media frenzy surrounding their relationship “destroyed them” many years ago.

“That was part what brought down our relationship was the outside energy. It was difficult, but we loved one another. Although it felt unfair at times, neither of us is that person who should be treated as if we were. We were both like, “Well, we just have to dust it off, and keep it moving.” It was, I believe, the most surprising thing that motivated us both to do what we ended up doing. She said that they had to do it individually. He entered hyper-gear, and I entered hyper-gear. But we didn’t have to do it together. It was something we had to do separately. We felt so energized by it, we wanted to prove ourselves again.”

Lopez suggested that This is Me Now would feature similar personal lyrics to its predecessor.

“We captured me at the moment when I was reunited to the love of my life and we decided that we would be forever together. The album’s main message is that love exists. This is real love. If you’ve ever lost hope or almost given up on love, I believe this album has the right message. The Marry Me star said that true love is possible and can last forever.

“I want to spread that message out into this world, and that takes a lot of vulnerability. Some parts of it scared me, but I couldn’t resist. It scares Ben, too. He says, “Oh, do you really want all this stuff?” Lopez teased that he was like, “Oh, do you really want to say all this stuff?”

This is Me Now will appear in 2023.
