Bacot stated that “on the court, it was so close this year” in a social-media video that announced his return. Although there are no guarantees, I want to be able to play in big games to keep Carolina on the national stage. And to finally fulfill Coach Davis’ dream of putting another banner in Smith Center. My Carolina story isn’t over yet. The next season begins right now.

Bacot was a junior for the Tar Heels last season and averaged 16.3 points per game.

He also improved from a Third-Team All-ACC performer into a First-Teamer. Bacot was UNC’s 8th seed in the NCAA Tournament, where he blossomed into an unstoppable star. He averaged 15.3 points per game and 16.5 rebounds per contest in an unlikely march towards the national title game.
