Acer’s Vero 514 Chromebook Is Eco-Conscious.

Acer has added a Chromebook to the Vero line-up. It claims it is designed to give laptop buyers an eco-conscious option. The Chromebook Vero 514, like the (rather disappointing Windows laptop), is made from recycled plastics and has a chassis that is 99 percent recyclable. It also comes in packaging that’s 90% recycled paper. Acer even suggested that a portion of the Chromebook Vero 514’s packaging could be “transformed into a multi-purpose triangular stand for laptops,” if you don’t want to throw it away.

Let’s start by reviewing the specifications. It weighs just over 3 pounds and has a 14-inch screen. It is powered by an Intel 12th-gen processor with Xe graphics. It can be specced with any number of processors including the Pentium Gold 8505, Core i3-1215U, and Core i5-1235U. These are all low-power chips that are suitable for eco-minded computers. However, if I was looking for a laptop, I would probably choose the Core i3-1215U, Core i5-1235U, or Core i7-1255U.
