Ultra-Orthodox New York Rabbis Have Now Infected 14 Babies with Herpes

A rare ultra Orthodox Jewish circumcision ritual may be putting infants at risk of contracting herpes.
The ceremony is called the metzitzah b’peh, a controversial circumcision performed by many ultra-Orthodox Rabbis. Basically, the Rabbi – or person who performs the circumcision – places his mouth directly on the newly circumcised penis and sucks blood away from the wound.
