He said that violence of any form is never an answer. He further added that he deeply regretted his actions, but a joke about his wife’s physical condition filled him with anger.
He apologized to Chris Rock, the Academy Awards, every viewer of the incident, and his movie King Richard Family for which he won the Best Actor Award. He ended the apology with “I am working in progress” Sincerely, Will.
