Fortunately, reason and cool heads prevailed and the happy couple announced their engagement shortly after the game

Recently, a soccer player from Belarus chose to follow a similar path. Vladislav Shubovich, FC Smorgon, arrived at Volna Pinsk’s game over the weekend with an engagement band in hand in hopes of proposing his girlfriend.

According The Sun , found himself with a golden chance after scoring a penalty kick at the 85th minute. This gave his team a 2-0 lead that almost assured them victory.

Shubovich tried to make the most of the opportunity by walking over the sidelines and getting down on one knee. But things quickly went sour after an overzealous security guard stopped the proposal and shoved the potential fiancee, whom he assumed was a fan.
