Netflix’s Marilyn Monroe Movie Receives A Uncommon NC-17 Rating For Sexual Content

Julianne Nicholson is the producer. The original rumor was that the film would premiere at Cannes in May, but it is now not expected to be there. The NC-17 label may prove to be a problem for some cinemas that have been reluctant to show Blonde films. Netflix relies on smaller independent chains that may not have similar objections to the NC-17 label so it’s not as significant as if it was a major studio release that relied on wide distribution. Netflix has yet to announce a release date or plan.
