At An Eastern Europe Secret Airfield, A Multi-national Effort To Send Weapons Into Ukraine Moves At High Speed

Even before Russia invaded Europe late last month, there have been many military cargo planes of the US and other countries flying above Europe. These flights were used to reposition troops on NATO’s eastern flank and to move weapons to transfer points so they could be delivered to Ukraine. The flights have been moving at a faster pace.

The US European Command (EUCOM), which is part of the large shipment operation, uses its liaison network with allies to coordinate “in real-time” to ship materials to Ukraine, according to a second Defense official.

EUCOM coordinates with other countries, such as the United Kingdom, to ensure that the delivery process is efficient and supports the Ukrainians in an organised manner.

According to the official, 14 countries have provided security assistance to Ukraine since Russia invaded, some of which had never sent such large equipment before.
