Jennifer Lopez said that her breakup with Ben Affleck 20 years ago was so painful, she thought she would “die.” The singer spoke out about her new Affleck-inspired album, and what the actor-director had to say about some of the lyrics.

Lopez, 53, spoke with Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s music specialist, about her upcoming album This Is Me Now. This is a follow up to her 2002 hit This IS Me Then. She stated that “I fell in love with my love twenty years ago.” “Now, the most incredible, amazing, and unbelievable thing has ever happened. The reason we’re there is that I want this moment in time to be captured because it is even more wonderful than the first.
