Lady Gaga Performs an Emotional, Glamorous Grammys Performance of Jazz Standards after Tony Bennett Introduction
Variety reported Friday that Bennett wouldn’t be joining Gaga at her Grammys performance.
Bennett’s son Danny stated that despite Tony and Gaga being invited to perform on Sunday’s Grammys broadcasts, it was difficult for him to accept due to his ongoing battle with Alzheimer’s. Lady Gaga was invited to perform for them both, but it was decided that she would do so on her own. She will perform flawlessly from Tony’s last album, ‘Love for Sale. He will cheer her on from New York City as he watches.
Gaga and Bennett were both nominated this year for five Grammys, including album and vocal album. Their single, “I Get a Kick Out Of You”, was nominated for Record of the Year, pop duo/group performance, and music video. This album is the follow-up to their jazz record “Cheek to Cheek”, which won the Grammy in 2015 for traditional pop vocal albums.
