Your TV Can Now Show A Live Feed From Google Nest Cameras

However, I mentioned in my review of the Nest Cam (indoor wired) that none of Google’s older cameras could stream to Chromecast devices. All Nest cameras stream to Google smart devices and Amazon Echo smart displays.

According to Google, the new integration will be available this week.

It doesn’t require activation. Make sure that your Chromecast is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you have your cameras. You can use the Google TV voice remote to ask your Nest speaker, smart display, or Google TV by pressing the Assistant button.

This blog post confirms that all Nest Cams/Nest Doorbells will work, including the latest devices released in 2021, the Nest Cam, Nest Cam, and Nest Cam.

Google supports only the Chromecast with Google TV version 2.3, so it is not yet known if other Chromecasts and Google TV devices will be compatible.

We just need Google’s promise that it would add a web portal option on its Nest cameras so they can finally have feature parity with the old Nest cameras.
