Val Kilmer discusses what it was like filming Top Gun: Maverick with Tom Cruise.

Iceman and Maverick have reunited.

Val Kilmer shared his experience filming “Top Gun: Maverick“, nearly 30 years after the original movie.

Kilmer told Entertainment Weekly that it felt like nothing had happened. He said, “We laughed so hard that we blew a lot off our chests.” It was truly fun and special.

Kilmer, now 62, played the role of Tom Kazansky, “Iceman”, in the sequel. According to Kilmer, the actors shared a close bond even at a young age.

Kilmer stated that while we were all young at the time of making the movie, there was still a special bond among us all. “Even after filming, we would still laugh and dance the night off!”

Kilmer told the outlet how he got the news that he was going to star in “Top Gun Maverick.”

“Tom called” me. He said, “I said yes immediately.”

Iceman and Maverick were reunited in the scene that filmed their first film together in almost 30 years.

The film’s director, Joseph Kosinski, has Cruise’s character, Pete Mitchell, ask to return to Top Gun to train a new group of pilots. Joseph Kosinski (film’s director) shared that he needed to include Kilmer’s character in the film.

He said, “You had to find a way to bring Iceman into the room.” “We met Val. He came up with the idea to integrate Iceman in an authentic way.
