Taylor Swift Responds to Backlash and Mockery after Being Added to The Top 100 Private Jet Polluters

Twitter users started posting fake Swift tweets, imagining Swift has a deep hatrer the environmentalism. Others joked that Swift’s song lyrics mention planes.

Swift’s representative clarified with Rolling Stone in response to the backlash that Swift’s jets were not always being used. She stated:

“Taylor’s plane is regularly loaned to other people. It is absurd to attribute all or most of these trips solely to her.

It was not surprising that Swift clarified her position.

Swift is as entrepreneurial as the Kardashians.

One fan was so dedicated that they even created their own list of Swift’s contributions to environmentalism on Twitter. The list also included Swift’s sale of one of her private jets and highlighted Swift’s love for penguins. It was quickly deleted by everyone after it was ridiculed.

Swift was not the only climate criminal on the list. Jay-Z and Floyd Mayweather Jr. were 2nd and 3rd respectively. Travis Scott, Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, and Blake Shelton were the other polluters. (Ironically, Kylie Jenner didn’t make the list).

Drake responded to data about his own wasteful flights. He also tried to correct the record by telling his fans that none of his short flights had anyone on them. This didn’t diminish the backlash.

Celebrities and the wealthy don’t seem to be interested in reducing their carbon emissions. They only want to make excuses. Public access to flight data is a headache.

As heat records continue to explode and the air becomes thick with smoke, the paper straws and recycling bins won’t cut it. The public is throwing water balloons at a house fire while the rich throw gasoline.

Celebrities won’t suddenly change their minds, but they may feel pressured to reduce their waste. After all, approval is the only thing the public can take from them.
