Samsung’s New Gaming Monitors Include a 8K, 57 Inch Ultra-wide Monitor

Samsung continues to push the boundaries of huge monitors with its next-gen, 57 inch Odyssey Neo G9. This model may be more appealing than the 55 inch Odyssey Ark Samsung, which has a ratio of 32:9. (the Ark has a ratio 16:9). While you may need to tilt your head in order to see Zeta Halo and Halo Infinite, or view all of the apps, it is more immersive than the Odyssey Ark. You shouldn’t expect the Neo G9 to be used in a vertical orientation.

Samsung teased the Neo G9 in November. It has an 8K display and a resolution 7,860x 2,160 pixels. Samsung claims that it is the first dual UHD mini LCD monitor. It boasts a 1,000,000 to1 contrast ratio, HDR 1000 support, and a matte display to absorb light. With its 1ms response speed and 240Hz refresh rate, the Neo G9 could be an option for high-performance gaming. Samsung claims that it is the first gaming monitor to feature DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity. Samsung will provide more information, including the price.

Samsung will have other displays at CES this year including its first curved OLED gaming display. It unveiled the Odyssey G8 OLED last year at IFA. It has a 34-inch display with a 21:9 aspect ratio, a resolution of 3,440×1,440 and a refresh rate of 175Hz. It is already being sold in certain markets by Samsung and will soon be available in the US.
