Michelle Obama’s Book Titled “The Light We Carry” is Out This Fall

“In ‘The Light We Carry’, Mrs. Obama offers readers a series o f fresh stories and thoughtful reflections on power, change, and challenge. She also believes that when we shine for others, we can illuminate our richness and potential, uncover deeper truths, and find new paths for progress.” The publisher’s announcement states in part.

“She draws from her life experiences as a mother and daughter, husband, friend, and First Lady. She shares the principles and habits she has learned to adapt to change and overcome many obstacles. This wisdom helps her to continue her ‘becoming’.”

Penguin Random House announced Thursday that it would rename an annual writing award in Michelle Obama’s honor, the $10,000 Michelle Obama Award For Memoir. This is part of an awards program for high school students that was launched in 1993.

Michelle Obama launched a podcast and wrote an edition of “Becoming” for younger readers. She has collaborated with Barack Obama and Higher Ground on projects such as , the Oscar-winning documentary “American Factory”, and which is a documentary about her tour to promote “Becoming,” where she was joined by Sarah Jessica Parker and Oprah Winfrey. Later, promotional plans for “The Light We Carry” will be revealed.

Crown is also the long-term publisher of Barack Obama. He is also a million-selling author. “A Promised Land” was the first of his two planned memoirs. It was published in 2020. A spokesperson declined comment to say when the next book would be published.
