James Hong, 93, finally receives a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Kim, who nominated Hong to be a Star, spoke out about the tough environment Hong had to endure to make a career as an Asian American male.

“I’m looking at you all right here, many who deserve to also be here. Kim addressed many of Hong’s Asian American co-stars. “But, I am equally certain that James Hong will be the trailblazer. “… It’s fitting that we pay tribute to someone who epitomizes the word “trailblazer” today, in the heart of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.

Kim joked also about Hong’s penchant to type in all caps.

Kim stated, “James. Let’s imagine that the next thing I say is being typed in all capitals, and let’s just say it’s bolded, italicized, for good measure.” “You’re truly worthy of the honor that you’re about receive, and you make all of us so very proud.”

Curtis, also starring in “Everything Everywhere All at Once”, paid tribute to Hong by describing their playful on-set chemistry and praising him for his spirit.

Curtis stated that the film’s central theme, “Everything Everywhere at Once” and James Hong’s center is kindness and love. “And those two qualities, in him, and in him, continue to their concentric circle, influence, and transformative change in others who see him and know him — me included.”
