High gas prices blamed by most Americans on Vladimir Putin and the oil companies: POLL

A new ABC News/Ipsos poll shows that while politicians are arguing about who is responsible for recent rises in gas prices, the majority of Americans believe oil companies and Russian President Vladimir Putin are to blame.

According to the poll, Americans are more inclined to blame Democrats than Republicans for the rise in gas prices.

The ABC News/Ipsos poll was conducted by Ipsos using Ipsos KnowledgePanel. More than two-thirds (71%) of Americans blamed Putin (68%) and oil companies (68%) for the rise in gas prices.

This is the same week that lawmakers quizzed executives of oil companies about skyrocketing prices for gas, which have been falling in recent days.
