HBO Max Deletes Nearly 200 Episodes of “Sesame St”

HBO Max is not enjoying a sunny day after removing nearly 200 episodes of “Sesame Street“, a beloved children’s show, from its streaming platform.

The original series now has 456 episodes on the platform, down from 650, Variety reported. This change follows an announcement by HBO Max earlier this week that it would remove 36 titles in its lineup in preparation for merging with Discovery Plus to create a single streaming platform.

The statement stated that “as we work towards bringing together our content catalogs under one platform,” they would make changes to the content offerings available on HBO Max and Discovery+. “This will also include the removal or modification of content on both HBO Max and discovery+.”

The HBO Max teen drama “Generation,” “The Not-Too-Late-Show with Elmo” and the animated series “Aquaman, King of Atlantis” are just a few of the works that will be gone. Last month, the streaming platform announced that all eight ” Harry Potter” movies would be deleted. Others, like the comedy series Mrs. Fletcher and the rock-and-roll drama Vinyl, were canceled without an announcement.
