Amber Heard’s Petition To Be Removed From Aquaman

The legal battle between the actors started in 2020 when the Pirates of the Caribbean actor lost his libel lawsuit against The Sun. Heard had written an op-ed piece that claimed she was abused by Depp and called him a “wife-beater”.

Depp has since refuted the claims and insists that he was abused at his home by Heard.

He also claimed that his ex-wife’s comments had cost him many major roles and effectively ended his career in Hollywood. Depp was famously replaced in the role of Grindelwald by Fantastic Beasts, The Secrets of Dumbledore. He also lost a $22.5million paycheck because Pirates of the Caribbean 6 was canceled.

Despite the growing interest in the petition, which has been open for almost a year, Warner Bros. stated that in 2021 it had no impact on the filming Aquaman sequel. Peter Safran, the producer, said that he doesn’t believe we will ever respond to fan pressure. “You have to do the best for the movie. We felt Amber Heard should be the one to speak for James Wan and Jason Momoa. It was exactly that. Heard will still appear as Mera in DCEU’s upcoming blockbuster, at the time of writing.
